Affiliate Accreditation

Accredo Affiliate Accreditation is a streamlined route for institutions already accredited by another recognised body. Accredo reviews the existing accreditation and current evidence rather than repeating a full inspection, admitting the institution to the Accredo network, benefits, and mark.

Who is affiliate accreditation for?

Institutions holding current accreditation from another recognised national or international body that want Accredo's network, benefits, and international mark without duplicating a full review they have recently passed. Accredo verifies the existing accreditor and award, reviews current documentation and monitoring evidence, and applies a proportionate check rather than a second full inspection.

What do inspectors assess?

The affiliate review verifies rather than repeats:

All criteria derive from the ten Accredo Standards, aligned with the ESG framework.

How does the process work?

  1. Register & scoping callCreate an account, complete registration, and join an online knowledge-exploration session so we understand your context.
  2. Self-evaluation & evidenceSubmit the application with documentation mapped to the standards above.
  3. Desk reviewInspectors assess your evidence and request clarification where needed.
  4. InspectionOn-site or virtual: observed teaching, facility review, and interviews with leadership, staff, and students.
  5. Report, decision & awardA graded written report goes to the Accreditation Board; successful institutions are accredited for four years.
  6. Annual monitoringYearly returns and an agreed improvement plan through to reaccreditation in year four.

Typical duration: three to six months. Institutions must have taught a student cohort for at least three months before inspection. Full detail: the inspection process.

Frequently asked questions

Which existing accreditations qualify for the affiliate route?
Current accreditation from a recognised national or international quality-assurance body. Accredo verifies the granting body's standing case by case during the scoping call — bring your certificate and latest review report.
Does affiliate status equal full Accredo accreditation?
It is a distinct, clearly labelled category: affiliate status recognises your existing accreditation and admits you to the Accredo network and benefits. Full Accredo accreditation — with its own inspection — remains available whenever you want it.
How fast is the affiliate route?
Typically four to eight weeks, because it reviews existing evidence and verifies the current award rather than scheduling a full new inspection.
