Mission & Vision
Accredo's mission is to enhance the quality of education globally by accrediting institutions and programmes that demonstrate continuous improvement and adherence to rigorous, published standards. Its vision is a global education community where quality is transparent, verifiable, and within reach of every credible institution — not only the wealthiest.
Our mission
To enhance the quality of education globally by accrediting institutions and programmes that demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to rigorous standards. In practice, that means three commitments:
- Evidence over reputation. Accreditation decisions rest on inspected evidence — observed teaching, audited processes, interviewed students — never on an institution's marketing or history alone.
- Improvement over gatekeeping. Every review produces written, actionable feedback. The purpose of inspection is to make institutions better, and the four-year cycle keeps that improvement moving.
- Access over exclusivity. Quality assurance should be affordable for a single-campus college in Accra as well as a multi-site university in Dubai. Fees are quoted in writing, up front, for the full cycle.
Our vision
A future where every credible educational institution, programme, and educator can be recognised for genuine commitment to excellence — wherever it operates and whatever its size. We work toward a global community where transparency illuminates pathways to improvement, collaboration crosses borders, and diversity of institutional mission is treated as a strength to be assessed fairly, not a deviation to be penalised.
Our values
| Value | What it means in an Accredo review |
|---|---|
| Transparency | Standards, process, fees, appeals, and complaints procedures are published. Institutions know what is assessed before they apply. |
| Rigour | Desk review plus inspection plus annual monitoring. No accreditation without observed evidence. |
| Fairness | Institutions are assessed against their own stated mission — a teaching-focused university is not penalised for not being a research university. |
| Inclusivity | Faith-based, online, vocational, and non-Western institutions are assessed with cultural and contextual understanding. See our Equality & Diversity policy. |
| Integrity | Inspectors declare conflicts of interest; decisions can be challenged through a published appeals procedure. |
