Inclusivity, Equality & Diversity

Accredo assesses every institution fairly against its own stated mission — across countries, cultures, faiths, and delivery modes — applies inclusive conduct standards to its own staff and inspectors, and requires accredited institutions to treat students and staff without unlawful discrimination.

In how we assess

Standards are applied proportionately and contextually: a madrasa, a Montessori school, and an online business college are each assessed on how well they deliver their mission. Inspection teams are briefed on institutional context and tradition, and inspectors declare conflicts of interest. Diversity of institutional mission is treated as a strength to be assessed fairly, not a deviation to be penalised.

In our own conduct

Accredo recruits inspectors and staff across nationalities and backgrounds, provides equality training within inspection methodology, and does not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any Accredo activity, event, or communication.

What we require of accredited institutions

Standard 5 (student support) and Standard 9 (information integrity) require fair treatment of students and truthful representation to all audiences; staffing standards require lawful, non-discriminatory recruitment. Evidence of unlawful discrimination is accreditation-relevant and investigated under the complaints policy.
